SOUTH AFRICA’S WATER QUALITY SHOCK

According to a recent Business Day report six of the country’s nine provinces showed a substantial decline in Blue Drop ratings with one province failing to achieve any ratings at all. As a water scarce country the decline in water quality control and regulatory compliance has dire consequences for citizens’ quality of life. The effects of environmental degradation through human activity and accelerating climate change is only set to aggravate the situation.
