The African Leadership Academy is situated on a site that used to belong to the Printing Press Federation and used to train artisans in industrial printing. It was acquired ten years ago and used to house the boarding school from its humble beginnings to its current projected intake of 300 students from all over the continent.

This architectural project involved developing the old library and classroom building into a new Learning Commons. The project required re-purposing the old 3000m² printing press factory shed into a new Learning Commons consisting of a contemporary library and learning commons, a build-lab, teaching and collaborative studios, meeting, co-working and recreation spaces.
